also: Lycra is a privilege, not a right.

  2. Ken Houghton says:

Had to look up “muffin top” at Urban Dictionary.

Fortunately, the definition is cleaner than I feared.

  3. Linda says:

it’s all in the pants. so true.

  4. Shelby says:

I like that the circle for “skinny” is waaaay bigger than the circle for “fat.” Unintentional but still delightful.

  5. Liss says:

muffintop is more about lack of muscle tone than skinny/fat, which I think this card is going for? I’m a size 10/12 and don’t have muffintop even in my spandex because I’m in shape.

  6. T says:

Liss, you are a rare woman these days, and I applaud you. Real men love teh curves!

  7. Miranda says:

That middle one would be me. We’re a pretty sad bunch. Too tiny for curves, but too pudgy for bikinis.

  8. :) Could also be titled “Blame the Baby.”

  9. Je says:

    Cautionary Girl,
Not all muffin top owners have babies.

  10. Aaron says:

I love this site and what you”re doing, this one especially!

Liss, being in shape doesn’t mean you won’t have a muffin top. I work out 5 days a week, run, bike, lift weights, and do yoga. I’m just about the same size as you and still have fat on my body. If I try to squeeze myself into an 8, I’ll get a muffin top. If I wear the right size, I don’t.

Sure, there’s are skinny girls with no muscle, and bigger girls who are toned and in great shape, but anyone can look fat wearing the wrong size.

  12. bryce says:

but meems, what she’s saying is in the right size someone who is fit/in shape will look good (MT free) in the right size. somebody out of shape is much less likely to be MT free in even the right size.

nothing wrong with body fat. this coming from a guy who has been through an eating disorder and knows how important body fat is.

  13. Meems says:

bryce, what she said was that not having a muffin top is about having muscle tone – and that’s what I disagreed with. Lisa never mentioned size in her post (besides disclosing her own) and all I pointed out was that it’s more about wearing the correnct size than having muscle. I also disagree with the idea that someone who is in shape automatically has less body fat, because that varies individual to individual. Eating well and exercising don’t magically make everyone thin…
