  1. that one’s excellent ! XD

  2. Nicely done!

  3. That was fantastic. It reminded me of overhearing people on the phone. Next time someone says “Where? Seriously?” I’ll jump to the thought of their grandmother.

  4. Fantastic! :]

  5. Pure genius.

  6. I need another coffee.

  7. Wow you’ve really outdone yourself with this one, I love it! :D

  8. This is perfect! I love these ones; they may take longer to read, but they’re always hilarious. Well done!

  9. i’ve been reading these every single day for months and months and i can tell you that this is your finest achievement.

  10. Brilliant.

  11. Will you marry me? You’re wit and humor are absolutely sexy.

    I LOVE these diagrams.

  12. Yes, brilliant.

  13. Roberto Leibman Says:

Damn you… you made me look up liger, which resulted in a 1 hour follow-the-link session at wikipedia.
Thanks, I’m now much better informed about feline hybrids.

  14. Man, these posts are hard! ;-)

Kudos to you … very clever.

  15. These diagrams are my favorite of all your posts!

  16. So, so good.

  17. Loved it!

    Keep up the good work.

  18. Magnificent! But the coffee must have brewed longer than normal!

  19. [...] The questions on everybody’s lips [...]

  20. Epic. Truely epic.

  21. You’re a genius!

These diagrams are my favorites also. They’re always the most satisfying, and I always laugh out loud at them. The seven deadly sins one remains very high on my list. I think this one tops it, though.

  23. what does “prodical” mean?
    Past tense of predictable?

(Yes, I do know what was meant, and I AM being a jackass!)

All teasing aside, this one rocks!

  24. David Gerard Says:

    brilliant!

  25. This is awesome!
    Thanks!

  26. Simply awesome. Unlike Robert I won’t look up liger, but I’m sure if I come across one I’ll think of you. For a second.

  27. I don’t know who you are, but I know you are a genius. Your diagrams are one of the things I look forward too every day. Whatever you do IRL, I bet you do outstandingly well.

  28. …!!!

(This was way too awesome for words)

  29. I was surprised 21 was all you could get out of seven points. I had to count the lines to make sure. Now you can do the reverse .. BA …. Or how about some triples or quads.

  30. Smart, smart, smart

    and very funny!

    Congrats, brilliant!

  31. I love the 5×7’s!

  35. Haha, awesome. These diagrams are always the best!

  36. Your site is a permanent fixture on my blog. Honestly, it took me a moment, but funny once I figured it out. If your drawings had been around in 10th grade, I might have passed geometry the first time around. A+++

  37. What about <xyz?

  38. I may just have to get this one on a T-shirt.

  39. This is my favorite. So many good chuckles hidden in there.

  40. Your K_7 graph makes me reminisce about my graph theory class.

  45. Jessica, I’ve not been a fan for very long (but I am loyal) so this was the first 5×7 I’ve seen. I love them! Could you do more please?
People need to be educated about such important things as ligers. Or get their cult movie viewing up to date and see the brilliant Napoleon Dynamite.

  46. Awesome! Really smart!

    Like it a lot!

  47. Brilliant, as always…

another one for CG: your place of conception

  48. How exciting it must be to create something that works so completely - well done!

  49. Masterpiece..

  50. Diwant Vaidya Says:

Much appreciated! It is now a poster in my office.

  51. Oh my god… best “web” strip to date. About half of the 21 combinations made me laugh out loud- if there’s one thing a geek loves it’s mathematical wordplay.

  52. whoa!!! pure genius….

  53. You are amazing. This is amazing.
    It’s just… wow.

  54. [...] always refer back to ‘Indexed’, [...]

  55. I don’t understand why this is funny, brilliant, or genius…

Am I missing something? I pick 2 questions, let’s say A. Who? B. What? and then I refer to the corresponding line segment AB, which is 3 am call for bail right?

    Maybe it’s because I don’t care for random humor…

  56. Wow, really good…

  57. (linkback) Funny or Lame? Indexed » Blog Archive » 7 wonders of the modern world. [VOTE] - http://www.thriveorfail.com/762d4

  58. @Jeremy: I still don’t get it, too. Someone eager to explain?

  59. What’s not to get? One possible answer to the question “Who? What?” as represented by AB: your phone rings at 3 AM. It’s your friend Tim. He’s talking really fast about being in what sounds like “jail” and needing what sounds like “bail money”. Your first response is, “this is WHO? Tim? You need WHAT? Bail money?”

Therefore, AB = Who? What? = Tim needs bail money at 3 AM!

P.S. I got a C minus in H.S. Geometry. I SO could have used this help back then :)

  60. OK, for Jeremy and August,

for each point like A, B, C, D, we have a question.. Not the figure it self it’s what matters the most but the lines, AB, AC, BC, BD etc.

Take line CG for example: Grandma’s nipple ring.

If I’d found out my grandma has a ring pierced in her nipple this is exactly what I’d say or think:

    Where????? (which is C)
    Seriously???? (which is G)

    :)

What’s so brilliant is that almost every line is witty and funny and very true (Check out line CD - C Where? + D When?, CD = It’s a date!).

    Hope that solves it :)

  61. I don’t get it
