Perhaps I’m misunderstanding this, but glass is actually one of the least effective materials to recycle. It is merely sand and it takes no more or less energy to be used whether or not it’s silica or a recycled bottle… but the recycled bottle was surely harvested using much more energy. Aluminum and steel on the other hand are pretty safe bets.
